Huisinbrake, die diefstal van diesel, vee, plaasinfrastruktuur, brandstigting en grondbesettings is aan die toeneem. Kameratoerusting is bewillig.

Zwartberg Farmers’ Association

Home burglaries, theft of diesel, livestock, and farm infrastructure, as well as incidents of arson and land invasions, are increasing. Camera equipment was allocated.

2020

Elandslaagte Farmers’ Association – camera system:  Incidents of stock theft is increasing, while farm attacks and home burglaries are common. Criminals are mostly in search of firearms and money. The camera system will assist the security company in the area and the police with their activities.

2019

Mooi Mpofana Agricultural Association (MMAA) - Camera system: General theft, burglaries, stock theft, assault, armed robbery and murder are the crimes that occur in the area. By installing cameras, it will be possible to monitor vehicle movement in the area, which will also potentially serve as a deterrent.

Umshwathi Agricultural Association - Installation of camera system: The theft of farm produce, livestock, infrastructure, equipment and game occurs regularly, as well as violent crimes such as robberies and murder. The system will be used, among others, for observation to deter criminals and for crime prevention.

2018

Underberg Farmers’ Association – camera system:  To address the crime problem, including farm attacks, theft of infrastructure and stock theft, the farmers’ association installed a camera network to monitor activities in the area.

Boston Farmers’ Association – camera system: Stock theft, as well as general theft and burglary, is a serious problem in the area. The camera system was to be used as a deterrent and to monitor suspicious vehicles.

2017

 Utrecht Farmers’ Association – purchase of night vision equipment:  General crime is at a high level because of increasing unemployment, with general theft being the biggest problem. The area falls under three police stations which recorded the highest incidence of stock theft in the country. The equipment was to be used to combat stock theft.

Umvoti Agricultural Association – camera system: The community had to deal with various challenges, including crime and protest action. To address these challenges, a number plate recognition camera system was installed in the area to proactively monitor security threats.
