2020
Agri Lephalale – camera system: Crime in the area includes farm attacks, stock theft, theft of infrastructure, rhino poaching, land invasions and burglary. With the installation of a camera system, all access routes in the area will be monitored because vehicles are involved in most of the crime committed in the area.
Agri Bosveld – camera system: The area is subject to stock and game theft, as well as farm attacks accompanied by violence and robbery. The camera system will assist security structures by monitoring activities in the area and following up on incidents.
Soutpansberg District Agricultural Union Bandelierskop – camera system: The district agricultural union is a member of TLU SA. Stock and game theft, illegal hunting and damage to infrastructure such as solar panels, are the most prevalent crimes committed in the area. The camera project will form part of the wider network of cameras within the Soutpansberg area.
2019
Agri Bosveld – camera system: Farm attacks and home burglaries occur, with stock theft being a general problem. To improve the security situation, cameras were installed to serve as an early warning to farm owners of a possible threat. The information can then be distributed with the help of the wider radio network.
Potgietersrus District Agricultural Union – camera system: The district agricultural union is a member of TLU SA. Crime in the area has escalated dramatically, especially theft. Farm attacks also occur, with a dramatic increase in rhino poaching. The police rely on the community’s cooperation to combat crime.
Trichardsdal Farmers’ association - camera system: Theft of cables, cell phone batteries, fruit, vegetables, game, livestock and equipment, as well as rhino poaching, occurs in this area. The crimes are mostly committed at night and cameras will be used for monitoring purposes.
Ellisras District Agricultural Union (TLU SA) - camera system: The organisation is a member of TLU SA and the most common crimes are stock theft, theft of farm equipment and infrastructure, as well as house burglaries. Various farm attacks have already occurred in the area. The camera system will be used to monitor vehicle movement.
Springbok Flats Farmers’ Association - installation of camera system: Theft of transformers, cables and fuel is a huge problem. House and storeroom burglaries also occur. Cameras will be used to monitor movement when undesirable people enter the area.
2018
Potgietersrus District Agricultural Union - night vision equipment: The union is a member of TLU SA and crime has increased dramatically due to an increase in unemployment and the influx of illegal immigrants. Farm attacks have occurred while rhino poaching has increased considerably. The night vision equipment will be used in crime prevention operations.
